Spirituality As A Game

If life is a game, then treat it like a spiritual game. It’s quite possible to treat every life situation as a game. Whether you are shopping at the supermarket, walking on the street, working at home, there will be time when things get tough. Whether it’s a situation involving a person or some other type of challenge, it’s probably safe to say we all encounter less-than-ideal situations on a regular basis.

Next time when such challenge presents itself, instead of reacting and getting dragged into the conversation, why not treat it as a practice to become more conscious and more present? It can be a great game to play. Turning a challenge into a game. Treat it as an opportunity to become more spiritual. So instead of thinking, ‘why is this person so annoying?’, a better response would be, ‘this person is testing how conscious I am so I better not fall for that trick.’ Once we get used to playing this game, we’d probably find that there is plenty of daily opportunities to play.

Spirituality is about the experiences rather than words and concepts. It’s like a workout, the more we train ourselves, the more at ease we become with spirituality. It makes a lot of sense to incorporate it into our lives as much as possible. So if adding a bit of gamification to spirituality makes it more fun, then we should definitely do more of it.
